recycled paper

Our Scrap paper box team collected scrap paper and Mrs R bought usa set to use. You had to rip up little pieces of paper and put it in a big box of water and then wait a day. Once a day had come make sure the paper is soggy and then put it in the special blender and mix it for 2 minutes. Then put it in to a different box and keep going on till the paper is all blended. Then put it in a shaper with the flat drainer and drain the water over the box the put it on a piece of chux cloth and squash and thats how you make recycled paper.

this past term we have been doing Myst. Myst is a computer game and it helps us to improve our writing because then we can write what we feel and see. Lately for art we have been doing myst art. I've put together a picture trail so you can see our classes Myst art.

For Melbourne Cup we made hats , ties and jokey silks . my horse that I picked out of a box won he's jokey's name was shoking.

REMEBERANCE DAY

Every year , on the eleventh of November , we remember the people who fought and died in wars to keep us safe. We remember them by wearing a flower called the red poppy.

world war 1 lasted for four years , from 1914 - 1918. It was called the great war because almost every country in the world was at war.

Many people were hurt or killed in the in the fighting that took place in Europe.

In the springtime , thousands of red poppies grew on the battlefields and by the soldiers' graves.

At 11 a.m. , on 11 november 1918 , the war stopped. the world was at peace again.

today, on remembrence Day, poppies are sold and worn to raise money for the people who have been affected by war.

We also stopfor 1 minute's silence to remember and honour the people who helped us to be at peace.

halloween means hallowed eve.halloween is the 31st of octobert.Halloween is the night before all

saints day. All saints day is the 1st of november and we pray for all those people who became saints. All souls day is the 2nd of november. we remember and pray for all those who died.

today is saint john vianney's feast day . st john vianney was born in France in 1786 and he died on the 4Th of august. he worked on his fathers farm as a Shepard and he tried three times to be a preist and they finally allowed him to be a priest. he was sent to ARS to be a priest there.st john vianney listened to peoples confessions and he was bullied by others. he became a saint by the pope in 1925 and was a patron saint of priests.

bad girls is a great read and it's a chapter book so it is a great read for 8 years

to 14 years. I don't like the part where 3 mean girls make mandy run across

particular part.

For the past week i have been reading THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET. It is a really good book to read and very popular at our school .I am up to chapter 7 which it's called "THE KEY".
248 pages of the book is pictures.The author of the book is BRIAN SELZNICK.This is coming out in a movie in a couple of years.YAY!!!!.

SAINT PATRICK'S DAY

17th of March was SAINT PATRICK'S DAY. We had free dress day and asked to wear green.We had to bring in a gold donation for caritas (minimum). Caritas is raising money for Uganda.

On friday the 13th of February the school of SJV had free dress day but we all had to bring a gold coin or more for the victorian bush fires. We raised $1300.00. WOW thats a lot of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
